THE MONUMENT OF BIRZHAN SAL

Birzhan sal Kozhagululy (1834-1897) – an outstanding composer of the Kazakh people, singer and poet. The birthplace of Birzhan is a city Stepnyak, Kokshetau region, Enbekshilder district. Clan – Kerei. His father Turlybay was a poor peasant, Birzhan’s grandfather Kozhagul. Birzhan was also poor, all his life wanders around the country and sang songs. He is not only a poet, but above all an excellent singer and a great composer. About 60 songs reached us.
On August 1, 1991, a monument to Birzhan sal was installed. The architect is A. Kainarbayev and the sculptor is T. Dosmaganbetov.
