Hello, dear guests!

Contemporary world demands modern view on a culture. Culture is not a traditional canon of cultural wealth6 but also a variety of vivid6 present reality6 that demonstrates the ethno-memorial complex “The Map of Kazakhstan “Atameken” throughout the duration of two years by its everyday practical activity. Our president Nursultan Nazarbayev had contributed much effort to the organization. “The Map of Kazakhstan “Atameken” was built by his initiative6 which is as a cultural edifice, which is unique and has no analogue in the countries of CIS. Since its first days the Map has become the most favorite place not only for citizens of Astana6 but also for the guests of the capital. Each year the exposition of the districts are refilled by new miniatures and information about the sightseeing attractions of the regions. The guests of the capital bring in the informational and educational sphere a large contribution6 representatives of our districts inform and help us in every possible way in the creation of new image of the Map.

The main priorities of the Map activity are set to: preservation of historical-cultural heritage6 maintenance and development of national culture and people’s culture and ethnic groups, living in the Republic of Kazakhstan; conduction of educational actions, propagandizing the best achievements and samples of cultural-spiritual development of Kazakhstan; support of international cultural cooperation.

The region of ancient history and culture with the well-known monuments of medieval architecture (Aisha Bibi mausoleum, Karakhan, Babadzha Khatun, Khodzha Akhmet Yassavi complex in Turkestan, Jochi khan, Alasha khan, Dombaul) is reflected on the territory of the ethno-memorial complex.

The Map reflects two factors, that determines the intensity of the assimilation and quite high level of Kazakhstan’s ancient tribes’ culture – that is, firstly, wide grazing areas, and, secondly, numerous places of ore deposits and extractable resources of our country. It is an unforgettable fact, that our Republic is one of the richest countries in the world by the natural resources: by its reserve in oil and gas we enter the top ten, by the number of grain export and reserve of mineral deposits on a dominant positions, etc. The concern of Kazakh national identity strengthening  in many ways is connected to spiritual, cultural consolidation of society, all the ethnic groups of the country around common norms and values. we hope, that the ethno-memorial complex “Atameken” the Map of Kazakhstan” brings in a large contribution in preservation and enrichment of cultural-historical heritage of the people of Kazakhstan.
