August 21 – Monument to Zhambyl Zhabayev

Zhambyl Zhabayev was a Kazakh Soviet poet-akyn.
He devoted his life to the promotion of universal values, to the singing of justice and patriotism. His heritage is a mirror of the history of life of the Kazakh people. Zhambyl’s works are relevant to this day and are the object of close study not only by people of Kazakhstan, but also by foreign literary critics. The akyn’s works have been translated into more than 50 languages of the world.
