The idea of installing a memorial stele on the tomb of Baluan Sholak was adopted during the celebration of the 140th anniversary in 2004. It reflects the biography, life hobbies, as well as the core values from the life of a baluan, a warrior, a singer, and a composer. The sculptor is a native of the village of Merke, Zhambyl Oblast Temirkhanov Kolzhigit Tuganbaevich, a graduate of the Academy of Arts of Almaty. The author of the concept idea of the Baluan Sholak Nurmaganbet Baymursauly memorial is an architect, a member of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan Salauat Dembay.
